As part of the Sitges Festival’s industry activities, Sitges FanPitch will be held between 10 and 13 October, previously called Sitges Pitchbox. The selected projects will have the opportunity to give a pitch to producers from leading genre film companies. Also, in the feature film category, the three winners will receive travel grants to access international markets: Sitges holds agreements with NAFF-Bucheon Fantastic International Film Festival (South Korea), Frontières – Fantasia Film Festival (Canada) and Blood Window at the Ventana Sur market (Argentina).

The evaluation committee has chosen the following feature film projects: Bloody Mary, a Spanish production to be directed by Joseph Díaz and that blends witchcraft, revenge and feminism while condemning abuse; Rain Catcher, by Michele Fiascaris (United Kingdom), a feature film conversion of the medium-length film of the same name, award-winner at Sitges 2020, which creates its conflict from the blurred boundaries between public and private life under the tyranny of Instagram; and El futuro testamento (Spain), by Velasco Broca from Rioja, a fantastic thriller set in the early 1980s, when a renowned singer enlists the help of an 18th century necromancer to recover the refrain of one of his most popular songs, which has mysteriously disappeared (this project also recently participated in Abycine Lanza).
The selection of feature film projects is completed with: Tziporen, by Boaz Armoni (Israel), a coming-of-age horror film that shows a world overtaken by monstrous, deadly creatures, where Ben lives, a teenager who has always been under the protection of his father, who swore to himself that he would protect his son after his wife was killed by one of these anthropomorphic creatures; Lucid, by Deanna Milligan y Ramsey Fendall (Canada), an artistic duo who expand on their award-winning short film of the same title, which screened at numerous festivals last year, with this project: The film now follows Mia, an insecure aspiring artist who starts to take a magical elixir to overcome her creative blocks…. but it will blur the lines between dreams and reality, turning the critical voices in her head into real monsters that she will have to face; Krampusnacht, by Peter Hengl (Austria), where the director of Family Dinner [+see also:

In the series category, the winning project will receive €2,500. The selection is as follows: Nycto, created by Ángel Barroeta (United States); Fallo del sistema, by Silvia Conesa (Spain); Newfall, by Stefano Nurra (Austria); Superada, by Ainhoa Menéndez Goyoaga (Spain); and Αταξία (Ataxia), by Christina Tryphonos (Cyprus). The committee also awarded a special mention to Vera Ventura and el tesoro perdido, by Jesica Aran.
